Waterway Mallard Duck Take Off
Wallpaper Description:
This is a photo that I took at the Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve about 20 miles from my home. I stopped there because it is very near where my 8 month old granddaughter lives. I'd passed it so many times that I got curious and went in one Friday. I'm glad that I did, and plan to go back more often. The ducks I saw on the lake were wild, because nobody feeds them. Even though I was way up on a hill above them, I made them very nervous. Consequently, I got a few shots of a flock of rather blurry backsides.
Finally, when I got to a different location, I tried again.
This time I had better luck; I got a photo of a mallard duck just starting to take off! There are at least 4 other mallards to the right of him as well.
