Wallpaper Description:
Yorkshire Rows are a team of 4 working mums, united by one dream to cross the finish line in Antigua, bringing glory to Yorkshire by breaking the world record for being the oldest crew (male or female) to row any ocean. As they all have full time jobs and 2 children each, it takes a lot of planning and management to be able to fit in all the training, courses and fund raising! In addition, they also want to raise as much money for their chosen charities at the same time. The team’s aim is to inspire others, particularly people who are pulled in so many different directions, and also children (especially our own) that with effort, team work and application anyone can do anything. As well as being working mums with two children each, we are a highly organised team with a range of complementary skills that enabled us to handle all the challenges this endeavor brought our way.
Rowers:
Janette Benaddi – 51, mum and a clinical researcher
“Doing it for the charities and doing it for the girls”
Helen Butters – 45, mum and a communications expert in the NHS
“During my Dad’s illness he amazed and inspired me with his courage, bravery and fight to the end. I hope he will be with me in spirit when I am faced with the unpredictable vicious Atlantic Ocean”
Niki Doeg – 45, mum and business owner
“Every single person is capable of so much more than they realise, with hard work, dedication and the support of those around them, amazing feats can be achieved”
Frances Davies – 47, mum and solicitor
“This challenge has everything – it’s going to stretch us physically, mentally, financially and emotionally. Truly life changing!”
