The 'Agusta-Bell AB 212 ASW (Anti Submarine Warfare) is a helicopter anti-submarine medium twin-engine helicopter with a rotor with two blades, developed by Agusta on the basis of AB 212 , which the company produced under license from the American Bell.

The project responds to a requirement of the Italian Navy for a helicopter carrying load average on all frigates and destroyers , replacing the AB 204 AS and military requirements of other countries involved in the project.
