This is a trend that seems to be a favorite among Mustang guys since the retro reinvention of the Mustang's style in 2005: grafting parts from new cars into the old sheetmetal. The headlights and hood shape seem to be favorite styling cues, and when well integrated, it works nicely. But it's far from easy; there are far more ways to do it wrong than right. Kevin Tetz knows this well and nearly gave up on the effort of subtly reshaping the '66 fenders to swallow the '05 headlights and morphing the hood into a version of a '08 GT500KR that would meet up with the new body line. It's a ridiculous amount of subtle work. A friend finally reminded Tetz that if he gave up and went a different direction on his dream car, every time he looked at it afterward he'd have a tinge of regret. That sealed the deal and Tetz went back to work figuring out how to make it fit. But there's more late-model Mustang than just the nose here; the entire interior and dash is from a '03 Cobra, as is the supercharged 32V 4.6 and the T56 behind it.
