Muscle Cars

Celebrating the coolest cars ever made, nothing like the sound of that engine when you turn that key.

Muscle car is an American term used to refer to a variety of high-performance automobiles. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines muscle cars as "any of a group of American-made 2-door sports cars with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving." A large V8 engine is fitted in a 2 or 4 door, rear wheel drive, family-style full-size car designed for four or more passengers. Sold at an affordable price, muscle cars are intended for street use and occasional drag racing. They are distinct from two-seat sports cars and expensive 2+2 GTs intended for high-speed touring and road racing.

Wallpaper Description:

1965 Chevy II Wagon

We suppose you could say this trend falls in with the "daily driver" category, but we contend that this one goes a step further. While anything can be made into a daily driver, some cars just make more practical choices for fitting into the multiple roles a true daily driver must fulfill. That's why SUVs and crossovers are so popular. We like to call 'em "responsible rods." Wagons are the natural choice since they were the original choice for those who had things to do and people to move. This particular pink (or is it salmon?) wagon was the vehicle of choice for Bridget Kavanaugh's first hot rod. The car was already a very clean and straight example with no real rust or damage. All it really needed was a fresh and reliable drivetrain, and a chassis that would make it fun for occasional autocrossing. Bridget's dad commissioned DSE for the build, with a deadline of Bridget's 16th birthday. The only mandates: make sure it's California legal, and don't touch the paint! The DSE crew not only made the deadline, on Bridget's birthday the wagon was delivered to her at Virginia International Raceway where an autocross course was set up for her. Kyle and Stacey Tucker were both on hand to offer pro advice. Later, after a few shows, Bridget and her dad drove the wagon cross-country from DSE's shop to SoCal. So far it's already racked up 4,500 issue-free miles and counting.
