Baby Bird in the Grass

This little fellow brings back memories.

I was walking Annie when I came across this little guy. (Annie is the collie that I use for my Avatar. She passed away 5 years ago.)

Annie & I were on our way to a park one Spring day when I was startled by a bird bursting out from a small hollow in a tree. The bird was very vocal and flew by my head a couple of times. I understood why when I spotted this little fellow down in the grass. I walked on a little further and fastened Annie's leash to another tree.

Then I came back and took 3 quick pictures of him. The mother bird must have been more worried about Annie than me, because she didn't try to dive at me again. Nevertheless, I'm sure she was relieved when Annie and I continued on our way.
