Dark Love (laid-back love card with black background)
Wallpaper Description:
Five roses mean "I love you very much"The "I love you" on this card carries a laid-back declaration, and the depth of love will be realized later, upon the counting of the number of roses.
Usually, it's the women who are into this thing (counting roses - so 1, 3, 5 and 12 mean different things...12 is considered unromantic, but multiples of five, like 15 ARE)
Why is 12 considered unromantic by women? Well, because 12 is a dozen and it reminds women of a dozen eggs...and chickens.
And most women will deny counting the roses for their meaning/message...to women, it's romantic if men know these things.
Yes, it's the Code of Love.
ONE ROSE:
What about ONE rose? As Isabelle has reminded me in the comments below, of women's thoughts on "one rose" or a "solitary rose"...let's tell it all here: To women, one single rose (preferrably red, but it can be pink or white or her favourite colour) IS romantic! Why? Well, as long as a guy is serious (and not acting unromantic), one rose is enough to touch a woman's heart...(better than if he gave her other small objects like a keychain or a 2-pound dumbbell!) (of course, any gift is appreciated by a woman but if a man is set on winning a woman's heart, flowers speak louder of love than other gifts, unless she specifically wants something, like a dress, etc.)(note that the "dress" bit applies only to wives or permanent partners because a single girl will NEVER even dream of getting a dress as a present or token from a new guy or suitor - he does not know her taste in clothes as yet, to begin with - plus it's unromantic because she uses dresses to surprise her man). I know...to men women are so complex!
MORE INFO:
The Eastern Practice is slightly different, but women all over the world feel thesame about roses generally.
To those who see the eastern symbolism in numbers, 12 is 3x4, 3 (well, 3 is romantic enough and it means I love you) times 4 (the number of death)...so it reminds one of a dying love or love that could die. What about 12 dozen roses? Same thing or even worse, actually...12 dozen means 144 roses...and you can see that there are 2 (4)'s there...that's only for the Eastern/Asian people who dislike the number 4 though.
If you really want to splurge, whether your girl is a Westerner or Asian, count the romantic way...like you're safer with 3 bouquets of 15 roses each. They cost less than 12 dozen too.
.
Or...regardless again of whether your girl is Eastern or Western...stick with the 5 red roses and stare into the eyes of your girl while giving them to her...she of course will pretend she didn't notice that their number is 5...now THAT'S romantic!
